Mid-term Elections – What do the trends tell us?

As the electoral process moves forward in Mexico, the National Electoral Institute (INE) has concentrated on reviewing compliance with the regulatory framework, especially with respect to the control of candidates and parties. These actions have mostly been challenged before the Electoral Tribunal of the Federal Judiciary (TEPJF).

With respect to other issues, the INE, together with the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), created the platform entitled “Informed Voting” to ensure that citizens know the electoral platforms of the parties and candidates of this year’s election.

Regarding the pandemic, the INE began to organize sanitary drills to ensure compliance with health measures in the voting booths installed across the country.

It is in this spirit that we share this document, the product of an in-depth review and analysis carried out by the Ágora Mexico team regarding the current state of the electoral process, by highlighting the critical issues that have arisen during its development.
